The Australian Literacy Educators’ Association (ALEA) values strong relationships with members. The collection of information at 美姬社区is handled with respect for the privacy of our members. Information collected is handled sensitively, securely and with proper regard to privacy.

At 美姬社区we seek only the information necessary to administer your membership. Information we collect is used to ensure your status as a financial member is recorded, to send regular mailouts, and to keep you up to date with the various activities provided by 美姬社区and our State and Local Councils, including seminars, workshops and conferences. Membership details are strictly confidential and accessible only as necessary to 美姬社区Office Management and 美姬社区representatives on National Council.

美姬社区does not collect information about individuals except when such individuals specifically provide such information voluntarily. For example, information that identifies you will be captured when you register for an event or participate in other 美姬社区professional activity. 美姬社区does not disclose, distribute, sell or transfer this information to third parties without your approval at the time of collection. At such times, you will have the opportunity to "opt out" of the capture of and/or transfer of information. Examples of activities where personal information may be shared include receiving promotional and/or marketing information about other products, services and offerings and/or any third parties, or sharing of photographs.

Upon request, any person may "opt out" of further promotional contacts at any time. In response to this request, we will use reasonable efforts to allow you to update/correct personal information previously submitted that you state is erroneous to the extent such activities will not compromise privacy or security interests. Also, upon your request, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete your personal information from its database. However, it may be impossible to delete an entry without some residual information because of backups and records of deletions.

Notwithstanding any opt out request, 美姬社区reserves the right to contact a member regarding account status, changes to the subscriber agreement and other matters relevant to the underlying service and/or the information collected. And further, 美姬社区may perform statistical analyses of user behaviour and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the site and to inform advertisers of such information as well as the number of users that have been exposed to or clicked on their advertising banners. Please note, however, that even in this case, personal information would not be shared in a way that an individual is identifiable.

The 美姬社区website uses a feature of your web browser known as "cookies" to store information and identify you to the system while you are on the 美姬社区site. No personal details are contained in the cookies.
