美姬社区Local Councils

美姬社区is a truly national professional association with an active presence in all states and territories through its 16 local councils. Local councils are the focal point of local members’ activities and are part of a strong 美姬社区network across Australia. All members of 美姬社区automatically become a member of their local council (determined by the member’s post code) when they join the association.

Each local council has a committee with elected executive officers/office bearers who are responsible for liaising with local members, organising professional learning workshops, helping to build an effective literacy community in their area, and supporting the national objectives of the association. Members can also join their local council committee as a general committee member who supports the elected executive committee members/office bearers.

A State Director is elected for each state and territory, to liaise with and support their state’s local councils, and to represent their interests on the 美姬社区National Council. You can find the names of your local council committee members and your state director by selecting your state below.

Members will soon be able to find the names of their local council committee members in the 美姬社区Contacts page listed in the Members Centre. If you are a Non-member and wish to contact a local council President or a State Director, please do so through the Contact Us link and forefront the name of the person you wish to contact in your message. Your message will be forwarded to that person.

For information on Professional Learning opportunities in your local area, see the Professional Learning Calendar.
