Lorraine Hennessy joined the Australian Reading Association, now ALEA, in the earlies 80’s. Since then she has held executive positions on the Meanjin Local Council, including president, and co-convened the National 美姬社区Conference in Brisbane in 1996. Lorraine was the Queensland State Director for 3 years and represented 美姬社区on the International Development in Oceania Committee for several years. In 2005, Lorraine was awarded 美姬社区Life Membership.
