Dr Kylie Zee Bradfield is a Lecturer in the School of Curriculum Teaching and Inclusive Education at Monash University. Kylie has been an educator for 30 years, working in Australian and UK contexts. She is passionate about literacy, language, and literature in the primary classroom. Throughout her time in higher education, Kylie has contributed as a consultant in the creation of school programs and in providing professional development to teachers and school leaders in all areas of literacy, including supporting students who have English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
Her research interests include primary teachers’ understandings of the teaching of children’s literature, teachers’ conceptions of comprehension and grammar in primary classrooms, and teachers’ understandings of multimodal texts. In her spare time Kylie enjoys reading, writing, and collecting children's literature from all over the world.
